This is a vintage Anna Chandler lamp base in the Chinese Peony design.
 
The firm is still in operation (in Western Australia) but hasn't produced lamps for some years. The Chinese Peony design, though, remains one of its most popular on other products such as tea towels.
 
You can only find Anna Chandler lamps at specialist shops and auctions these days, and even then not often. This piece is extremely heavy, and measures 20x29x10cm.
 
This lamp needs rewiring and has a few scratches on one side. After sitting in the same spot for years, one side has become sun-faded, with the flower now a mellow tangerine rather than fuchsia. You can see it's still very beautiful, but not as vibrant as the other side.
