Uncover the Secrets of Antique Kitchenalia

Hey guys, I mentioned in my last Newsletter that I had a new book out. But did you know that it's part of a series called “An Expert Guide to ….”? Okay, so far there are only two books in the series, but I’m currently working on the third.

I wrote The Foodie's Guide to Antiques & Collectables: An Expert Guide to Buying Antique Kitchenalia Like a Professional because so many of you asked me to write something about antique kitchenalia. It’s certainly one of the most popular categories with antiques and vintage buyers, and probably our biggest seller. I love old kitchenware because it’s functional as well as beautiful.

Anyway, I’m about to get my act together and start some marketing for all my books. Not being very good at marketing is something many writers face, and I’m no exception. But if no-one knows about my books, how can anyone realise they want and need them, right? And if you enjoy buying antiques, it certainly doesn’t hurt to have an expert at your shoulder, helping you to avoid making expensive mistakes.

Have you ever wondered about the stories behind those charming old utensils and gadgets that make your kitchen look so unique? Or maybe you’ve found yourself sifting through a flea market, wondering if that vintage spice jar is worth the price? Well, wonder no more! I have over 35 years of experience as an antiques buyer, and this book will help you spot the bargains and avoid the duds, just like a pro.

What’s inside?

Fascinating histories of your favourite foods

Expert tips on how to find and evaluate antique kitchen items

Practical advice on building a collection you’ll be proud of

This book is your ultimate guide to discovering and collecting kitchenalia, those delightful pieces of culinary history that make cooking and dining a real joy. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just starting out, you’ll find loads of useful info and fun facts that’ll make your next antique hunt even more exciting.

If you’d like a copy, it’s only $15 if you buy directly from me. It’s available on the website (www.frenchandvintage.biz/books), from me in person at Collectorama Antiques Fair (the next one is this coming Saturday, 1 June 2024, at the Nambour Showgrounds, Sunshine Coast), or from me at Peregian Beach Markets on the first and third Sunday of each month.

Let’s transform your kitchen shelves into a showcase of history and charm with items that are beautiful, functional and valuable.

Thanks for being such an amazing community. I can’t wait to hear what you think of the book. Happy collecting!
