French Enamelled Lunch Box
These charming boxes were used by Frenchmen back in the day to carry their lunch to work – along with a baguette and a bottle of wine, naturally. This one has an aluminium tray in the top; they were all supposed to have one, but today not all of them do. They have strong rubber seals under the lid, which makes them ideal kitchen storage containers. They’re even occasionally used by fashionistas as very different looking handbags. This piece came from the south of France.
